Snow!
The snow is crazy. I am sitting at Espresso Royale watching it swirl and blow around outside. People walk by all bundled up and bracing themselves against the wind that hurls frozen pellets of water.
I drank a large macchiatto and ate a maple scone.
Even though it is cold, windy and snowy and I have to go home and figure out how to shovel with my bad abdomen, life is good.
A little boy about 2 feet tall is here with his parents. He is wearing maroon sweatpants and a blue sweatshirt with little tiny snowboots. He looked at me from across the coffee shop, smiled, and came running, in that wobbly way that only small children in snow boots can, toward me giggling. I smiled at him and he stopped, smiled back, and ran the other way. He is fascinated by my computer and keeps approaching, retreating when I look, and then re-approaching. He is here now, somewhat shyly looking at the screen.
Life is good.
